Lite-On's dual-layer-capable SOHW-1673S internal ATAPI/E-IDE drive lets you record up to 4 hours of high-quality MPEG-2 video or up to 8.5 GB of data, music and/or images on compatible DVD+R DL media. You can store more than 2,000 songs, which is the equivalent of 7 days of music, or 4 hours of high-quality video without a commercial break on a single double-layer disc. A double-layer disc can also hold up to 17,000 JPEG image files or up to 17 hours of VHS-quality video.
Lite-On has implemented the fastest DVD rewriting technology as of 2005--8x DVD+RW and 6x DVD-RW. This dual-format DVD drive is also able to write certified DVD+R DL dual-layer media at 4x maximum; write single-layer DVD+R and DVD-R at 16x maximum; and read DVD-ROM media at 16x maximum. It takes around 6 minutes to backup 4.7 GB data on a certified single-layer DVD+R or DVD-R media at 16x, saving you a lot of time and trouble in storing your data.
